Cage Legacy spoke today with Rush Fight Academy featherweight Dan Mc Carthy ahead of his featherweight bout with Ben Judge (FM BJJ) at Cage Legacy Fight Night Drogheda on February 11th 2017. Mc Carthy fights out of Rush under head coach Paul Cowzer and trains along side some of the best fighters in the country.

How you got into the sport?:
“I used to watch the UFC with my dad from a very young age and made the transition from Judo to MMA after a few years”
Who is your biggest inspiration?
“My biggest inspiration would be all the old boxers like Jake LaMotta there was no nonsense and they were all tough as nails also, I have respect for all fighters really especially my team mates and my coach”
What does it mean (for you) to be a fighter?
“Being disciplined and making sacrifices and most of all learning something new each day.”
What would you like to be remembered for?: “I wanna be remembered as someone who always had a go and as somebody who represented rush fight academy well both in and out of the cage”
